SAF® Bread Machine Yeast
SAF® Bread Machine Yeast is a fast-acting yeast with excellent performance in bread machines. Ascorbic acid, a dough conditioner, is added to help dough stretch easily.
SAF® Bread Machine Yeast is now available in 4 oz. jars for the price of 3 oz., so you receive one ounce free with every jar purchase!
For bread machine baking on regular cycles, use 1/2 teaspoon SAF® Bread Machine Yeast for each cup of flour and 80ºF liquids. For one-hour bread machine cycles, yeast amounts must be doubled or tripled; suggested liquid amounts vary with machines. One-hour cycles require liquids be heated before adding to pan. Consult manual for recommended temperatures.
SAF® Bread Machine Yeast can be used for traditional baking as a fast-acting yeast. When mixed with dry ingredients, heat liquids to 120º to 130ºF. To hydrate before combining with other ingredients, use 110º - 115ºF liquids. For traditional baking, 2-1/4 tsp. SAF® Bread Machine Yeast is sufficient to raise 4 cups, approximately 1 pound, of flour.
